Pawmily is a community hub for pets located in the Ekkamai district of Bangkok. The project transformed an old three-storey house into a warm and welcoming full-service pet care center, the facility features a pet shop, daycare, hotel area, and grooming room on the first floor. The second and third floors are intentionally left flexible to accommodate future pet-related services.
On the ground floor, as a result of preserving the original structure and optimizing the functional layout, the former garage was transformed into a pet shop area, introducing a change in floor level within the interior. This change becomes one of the key spatial elements that defines and distinguishes the boundaries both within the interior and in relation to the exterior of the house.
With the core concept of creating pet-friendly spaces, the design prioritizes a strong connection between the interior and nature, encouraging a fun, cozy, and comfortable environment for both pets and customers. A front yard with a swimming pool is added to serve as a playful, interactive space for both pets and humans. This outdoor space is enclosed by a wind-block fence that ensures pet safety while allowing for natural ventilation.
All existing openings are preserved to maximize natural light, large windows in the pet shop provide visual access to the yard and swimming pool, strengthening the connection between customers and the pets at play.
To enhance the playful atmosphere, geometric shapes and primary colors are incorporated throughout the design. The contrast between beige and red is used deliberately to highlight key areas and accentuate the framing of openings—creating visual interest and drawing attention to the most prominent spaces.
